Adjusted School Day Due to STF Job Action

Dear FWJ Families:

The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation announced that they will withdraw noon-hour supervision provincewide on Friday, February 16, 2024. Without having an adequate number of supervisors, schools cannot safely have students in the building over the lunch break.

As a result, the school day is being adjusted and high students will be dismissed at 12:50.

The high school schedule will compress to a 5-day period (no advisory) in the morning as follows:

ALL CLASSES CANCELLED JANUARY 16, 2024

As a result of a Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation job action, all classes are cancelled on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

Families please note that on that day:

  • There will be no school for students.
  • All student transportation will be cancelled.
  • All Before & After programs operating in our schools will be closed.
  • All extra-curricular events and field trips will be cancelled.
  • All Regina High School Athletics Association (RHSAA) events will be cancelled.
  • You do not need to report student absences.

Please see the Regina Public Schools website for more details.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
