Wellness 10

The Wellness program is a blend of Health and Physical Education.   It incorporates the components of fitness into practical applications.  Fitness assessments will be done throughout the semester in order to encourage students to develop good decision making skills and a healthy lifestyle.  The program is diverse in that students will experience activities which they may wish to continue in the future.  Students have the opportunity to participate in both team and individual lifelong pursuits. Nutrition, healthy eating, HIV/AIDS education, family life education and healthy relationships are topics of discussion.  Volunteerism in both school and/or community is a required portion of this class.

 

Personal Fitness 20L

The focus of this course is on general fitness and is designed to provide introduction and develop broad understanding of fitness in relation to and general health and including a variety of training methods.

 

Personal Fitness 30L

The focus of this course is on personal fitness goals. This course is designed to explore specificity and to develop deep understanding of theory and principles of fitness in relation to personal improvement.  (Prerequisite: Personal Fitness 20L)

 

Physical Education 20/30

The focus of these courses is on recreational and competitive activities that are available in the school and the community to promote a lifelong active life style.  Activities to expect include:  badminton, racquetball, squash, tennis, billiards, golf, 5 pin and 10 pin bowling, and a variety of gym games.  This course best suits students who like to be active and are willing to challenge themselves with new activities.  These courses have a $75.00 fee attached.
